Finally, I hit my 100K words milestone. Authors talk about the middle of the book being the most difficult. And, while that has been true it has not been due to the story or character arcs. The hardest part has been me staying motivated.

If you have been reading my rambling journey, you know writing is not my full-time gig (as is often the case for indie authors). Work has been keeping me busy and moving to a new team has been both fun and challenging. I love to stay busy, but the learning curve in this new area has been steep.

What does that mean for writing?

At the end of most days, my brain is fried. I do not have any juice to push through into the night. My heart wants to but I find myself sitting in front of my laptop with nothing to show for it. So, I go to bed and repeat the process all over again.

Weekends have been my saving grace. And, I finally hit my second milestone of 100K words! It feels so good.

I recently finished writing several scenes and sequels of battle and reflection. The characters are about to go through some major changes. As I stated in my last update, it will get darker and harder. I am so excited to be writing this part of the book as it will set up the next book.

I am at 70-percent of the first draft being complete. The next goal is 125K and the final milestone is 150k!
