It is hard to believe I am writing this in the last week of 2025. Like every year, I set goals and milestones to achieve. And, like many years, I was a little aggressive in what I hoped and expected to accomplish.
In 2025, my goals were:
- Exercising 3x a week
- Done.
- Losing 10 pounds
- Done.
- Creating this author website
- Done and thanks for visiting.
- Increasing my income
- Nope, any money made from other book sales went into self-pub marketing.
- Finishing the first draft of my novel
- As of this post, I am 7500 words away! Then it is on to the hard work of rereading, editing, and sending to Beta readers!
- Finishing a training course
- I also write non-fiction and have 3 books that I am writing a training course for. 50% complete.
- Having two Date Nights a month
- Being intentional about loving my wife. Done.
- Helping with my son’s wedding
- It is hard to believe we are now empty-nesters. Done.
- Communicating with loved ones weekly
- Again, trying to be intentional with maintaining relationships with the kids and extended family. Done.
- Going to a concert
- Done. We saw Andrea Bocelli and it was AMAZING.
- Going on a brewery tour
- Done. We went to Sweet Water Brewery.
- Going on a winery tour
- Done. We went to Montaluce Vineyards.
- A daily quiet time
- Time in solitude is very important for me. 50%, hit or miss weekly.
- Reading 15 books
- Done. Read 34 total!!
Like I said, a little aggressive. But, I would rather shoot for something than nothing.
I also volunteered in 2025 and got to attend WorldCon in Seattle virtually. It was great interacting with indie authors and friends online.
One big goal is to publish “The Curse of All Things Pure” in 2026. I’d like to release it at a convention like WorldCon 2026 or DragonSteel Nexus. Still a lot of proofing, polishing and Beta reading to go.
Hope to see you in 2026!!
